Going back in time (III)

… continuation of Going back in time (I) & Going back in time (II) – and final post about the medieval castle of Chillon (Switzerland):

The Castle belonged to the Counts of Savoy from the 12th to the 16th century, then the inhabitants of Bern conquered the water castle, and subsequently the inhabitants of Vaud prevailed.

This monument with over 1000 years of history has always inspired artists and writers.

The Castle’s chapel with its 14th Century paintings make it one of the rare religious buildings to have escaped the Reformation.

More than 300.000 guests visit this castle per year. If you ever come around don’t miss it!😉 More info on its website.

Hope you liked the tour! Enjoy the weekend
