Wide Angle Lens

I’m currently looking to purchase a wide angle lens and would like to know if you have one, suggestions and opinions. I’m looking forward to hearing from you photogs! πŸ˜€

I’ve got my eyes on this one:

TOKINA AT-X 11-16 mm f/2.8 DX PRO

  1. I have a Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G and am really happy with it. It doesn’t change the image as much as a fish eye lense, but covers a really wide area. From my point of view, it depends on what you want to shoot. If I had the choice, I would try to find a lense with less aperture than 3.5 to capture more light. 2.8 doesn’t seem much, but it might just do the trick for concerts and darker areas. If you are shooting with plenty light available or where you are sure, your area in focus will be quite large, then go for a lense with higher aperture which most likely is also less expensive. Hope, that helps πŸ™‚ Cheers!

    1. Thank you for your suggestions! I’m thinking of going 2.8 but it’s not set in stone πŸ˜‰

    1. Hi Marina, thanks a lot! I still have a lot of thinking to do so it really helps πŸ™‚

  2. I have no advice to give at the moment since I’m still shooting with a lit lens. I’ll be hopefully making the plunge in the next few months as well though. I’m curious to see if there is THAT big of a difference. I sincerely hope there is since with the price of “pro” lenses.
